The past three years have been profoundly challenging for the world at large, with Armenia and Armenians facing particularly excruciating hardships.
Oghak NGO had its own share of the turmoil created by the Covid-19 pandemic. Oghak was forced to close its doors for about eight months, but remained active on its social media pages, sharing daily important tips and information, as well as sports videos, thus encouraging the participants of its programs and general audiences to lead a healthy and active life during the lockdown. During those months, Oghak also provided assistance to families in need, as well as to the Hospital of Infectious Diseases and to the Home for the Elderly in Yerevan.
During the Covid-19 pandemic, Armenia and Armenians suffered all the consequences of the Artsakh war. On the very first day of the war, Oghak reopened its doors to offer its assistance to our displaced compatriots by providing shelter, food, clothes, medicines and healthcare items, as well as employment opportunities. Oghak also organized psychological counseling sessions, as well as theater and art therapy events and gatherings.
In cooperation with the Yerevan Municipality and the Nork Marash Administrative District Hall, Oghak provided its assistance to the soldiers (food, backpacks, cleaning items, sleeping bags, raincoats, etc.). All this was possible thanks to the tireless work of the members of Oghak and the donations of Diasporan Armenians. Oghak continued to provide emergency aid during the period of 2020-2022, during which the children from Artsakh were given New Year gifts and pleasant surprises.
