Arts and Crafts
Oghak’s program includes organizing arts and crafts courses, as well as teaching Armenian national embroidery. Those courses serve not only as recreational pursuits but also as valuable resources for future employment and income generation. Over the years, members of the Oghak Arts and Crafts Group have acquired professional skills and craftsmanship abilities. This progress has enabled Oghak to successfully organize six sales exhibitions, including three in Beirut, one in Los Angeles, and two in Yerevan. These exhibitions have not only showcased their work but also motivated participants to further cultivate their skills and creativity.
By supporting our arts and crafts program and purchasing from our shop, you will not only have the opportunity to support the continuity of this important initiative but also to appreciate the handiwork of women in Armenia.
Arts and Crafts Group
Throughout the year, the Arts and Crafts Group gathers in weekly meetings, during which members not only practice but also produce new items which are then displayed in our shop.
Armenian Embroidery Courses
Oghak organizes classes teaching various stitches of Armenian embroidery (Marash, Aintap, Urfa, Swaz). It is within these classes that our participants produce items decorated with national embroidery patterns, which we later exhibit during events or display in our online shop.
Annual Exhibitions
The artwork produced by our arts and crafts and Armenian embroidery groups are displayed during annual exhibitions. Thus far, Oghak has organized the following exhibitions:
